About · An interdisciplinary design practice
I’m Carolina Marques, a Portuguese Canadian brand designer and strategist based in Langley, BC, working across Greater Vancouver and beyond.
Strategy, design and execution, led personally from first thought to final launch.
Background
I learned to think in
objects before I learned to
think in brands.
I grew up painting, sketching and making whatever I could, before studying industrial design at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. That training taught me that form, brand, message and material all depend on each other. Every decision shapes how something is understood, made and used, and what it asks of the earth.
Over the past five years, I’ve carried that thinking through in-house teams, studio work and independent practice. At Goodland Products, I designed products from concept to production while art directing the campaigns and packaging that brought them to market. At Dehoco, I shaped brand direction and took projects from concept to launch across identity, digital and packaging.
Today I work independently with founder-led businesses, directly, from the first conversations about the business through to design, production and launch.

Growing up between Portugal and Canada shaped my appreciation for craft, materiality, restraint and things made to last.
Approach
Good design answers the brief. Lasting design understands the business behind it.
Before deciding how something should look, I want to understand what it needs to do and who it serves. I bring that thinking to every scale, from the structure of a website to the feel of a printed piece.
The goal is not to make every touchpoint feel designed. It is to make every decision feel like it belongs.
If that sounds like the right way to work, let’s talk.
Tell me about the business and what has brought you here.
