Brand identity, packaging & web design · Greater Vancouver
One point of view,
carried across disciplines.
I develop identities and carry them through websites, packaging, print and products, adapting the visual language to each medium.
Some projects start from nothing. Others build on an established brand through a website, a packaging system or a product. Scope is shaped around what the business needs and where design can make the biggest difference.
Brand Strategy & Identity
Giving the business a clearer form.
A strong identity begins before the logo. On complete branding projects, it starts with The Build, where we define what the business stands for, where it’s going and who it needs to reach.
I turn that into a visual and verbal language with enough structure to stay consistent and enough character to evolve.
What a project can include:
- Strategy & Positioning
- Messaging & Brand Voice
- Visual Identity
- Art Direction
- Brand Guidelines
- Launch Applications
Packaging & Print
Where the brand becomes physical.
Packaging and print add material, scale, texture and production to the way a brand is experienced. I consider how something looks, how its information is structured, how it’s made and where someone will hold it.
In-house, I worked directly with cartons, hang tags, catalogues and production partners. Files are built to be printed, not just presented.
What a project can include:
- Packaging & Labels
- Editorial & Print Collateral
- Stationery
- Signage & Environmental Graphics
- Vehicle & Fleet Graphics
- Production Artwork
Website & Digital
Translating the brand into an experience.
A website asks more of an identity than placing it on a screen. It has to work through hierarchy, movement, interaction and content.
I design each site and build it on the platform that suits the business, so the visual language and the structure develop as one piece of work.
Beyond the website, I create the social strategy, templates and campaign content that keep the brand consistent from week to week.
What a project can include:
- Site Strategy & UX
- Web Design & Build
- E-commerce
- Email & Social Templates
- Launch Campaigns
Industrial & Product Design
Considering the object and the world around it.
My training is in industrial design, and I’ve taken products from concept to production in-house. I approach products through form, function, material, manufacture and use, and through how the object sits within the wider brand.
That can mean developing a product, or bringing a product, its packaging and its identity into closer alignment.
What a project can include:
- Concept Development
- CAD & 3D Modelling
- Design for Manufacture (DFM)
- Prototyping
- Product & Packaging Integration
Brand strategy workshop
The Build: A Brand Strategy Workshop
Every complete branding project begins with The Build, a collaborative workshop where we define the brand’s DNA together before any design begins.
We work through who the business is for, what it stands for and how it should sound. Then we turn those answers into decisions the design can act on.
A strategy only matters once it’s put to work, so The Build leads directly into the identity, the website and everything that follows.
What we define together:
- Mission, Vision & Purpose
- Values
- Target Audience
- Brand Personality
- Tone of Voice
- Messaging
- Tagline
What you leave with:
A brand positioning document that guides every design decision from here on.
FAQs
A few things you
might be wondering.
-
Every project is scoped individually, around the work, its complexity and the involvement it needs. After our discovery call, you’ll receive a proposal with the scope, timeline and investment before anything begins.
-
It depends on what the brand needs. A focused identity refresh is a smaller investment than a full brand with strategy, packaging and a website. I’m based in Langley and work with businesses across Greater Vancouver, BC and beyond, and every project is quoted after a discovery call, so you see the scope, timeline and investment before anything begins.
-
Yes, when the work is a good fit. A focused project, like a packaging line or a single campaign, can be the right place to start. We’ll talk it through on a discovery call and shape the scope together.
-
That’s common, and it’s what the discovery call is for. You don’t need a finished brief. Tell me about the business and what has brought you here, and I’ll help define the right scope.
-
The Build is a collaborative strategy workshop where we define the brand’s foundations before design begins. It’s part of every complete branding project. If you already have a clear strategy, we may not need it, and I’ll tell you so honestly.
-
A logo works best as part of a wider identity, with the colours, type and guidelines that let it hold together everywhere it appears. I’m happy to talk about what you need and recommend the smallest scope that will genuinely serve the business.
-
It depends on the scope. Your proposal includes a timeline with the key stages and dates, so you know what to expect from the start.
-
Yes. I design each site and build it on the platform that suits the business, including Shopify, Squarespace, WordPress and Webflow.
-
Yes. I can redesign a site you already have or rebuild it on a platform that suits the business better, carrying your brand through every page. If the identity needs work too, we can do both together.
-
Yes. Many projects build on an established identity, through a website, a packaging system or a product. I’ll work within what exists and refine it where it’s holding the business back.
-
You’ll have the files and guidelines to use the work with confidence. For ongoing design support, a Creative Retainer keeps the work moving under one consistent point of view.
-
Yes. I’m based in Langley, in Greater Vancouver, and work with clients wherever they are, with calls and shared files keeping everything moving.
If that sounds like the right way to work, let’s talk.
